Arizona State Fair Results - October, 2023

Two quilts recently entered in the Arizona State Fair received recognitions! Arizona Canyons earned a Second Place in the category Machine Pieced/Machine Quilted.

Chrome Rhino in Color earned an Honorable Mention in the category Original Design. Here is a picture with the person it was made for, my son Jay, who is the drummer of the Phoenix rock music band, Chrome Rhino, the inspiration for the quilt!

It was a day of celebration for my family as my daughter, Amanda, earned a First Place for the baby blanket she had crocheted with such precision!

“Chrome Rhino in Color” Featured in a Youtube Video!

A Youtube video of the beautiful quilts presented at the Arizona Quilters Guild show in March, 2023, Quilt Arizona!, provides a lovely overview of the variety of designs, techniques and color palettes used by quiltmakers for the show. I was very happy to see that my quilt, Chrome Rhino in Color, was featured in this summary!

Arizona Canyons Quilt Featured in a Post!

The quilt Arizona Canyons features diamonds in the vibrant red rocks colors of Sedona along with shades of turquoise, Arizona’s official gemstone.  The large squares are reminiscent of the rock striations and colors of Antelope Canyon.  Each square contains a different motif done in free-motion quilting.  I was honored to see that it was featured in a post about the Arizona Quilter’s Guild show, where the quilt was on display in March, 2023.   You can see it and many other beautiful quilts from the show at ARHtistic License!
